EarthBound - Anti-Piracy "Hard Mode" goodness
For those who don't know, EarthBound has a little surprise for players if it detects that it's not being played in a legitimate SNES - it makes enemies spawn at an unprecedented rate!
Other effects of the anti-piracy failure can result in other bad things, too. For this video, I used a cheat code (PAR - C0283480) that only caused the increased spawn of enemies, without all the other goofy stuff that occurs.
Some observations: One, of course, there's a heck of a lot of enemies. Second, I never knew until trying that Criminal Caterpillars could spawn in the Twoson/Threed tunnel! Lastly, I found that, if you try to enter peaceful Threed with the code on, the game freezes - Perhaps an anti-piracy checksum occurs at this point?
Update: For the record, I never use this code for a normal playthrough; I was merely curious about what the enemy spawn rate would be on a pirate cartridge. Please do not call me a cheater.
